Summary
Something shifted within Ed. The love he felt twisted into something deeper, darker. "You think you own this?" Ed’s confusion was clear. "You think you own heartbreak? You think you own pain?"
Ed stepped back, unsettled. The tenderness in Stede’s gaze now burned with rage.
"Is that what this is?"" Stede’s voice grew stronger, bitterness dripping from each word. "You took my ship! You hurt my friends! And you never came looking for me!" He knew he was playing with fire, but he couldn't stop, so much emotion fueled through him. "I left my family. I searched for you for months. Yes, I hurt you, and I’ll regret that for the rest of my life. I love you, Ed, so much. But you hurt me too."
Ed felt smaller under the weight of his guilt, suffocating him. Stede moved closer. "You think a mask can hide you? I did too. I’m not the man you loved. I’m no hero. I’m a coward. The only thing brave about me. Is you. And I love you, every part of you—even when you hate me."

Summary
Hobbits are not a common sight in the Caribbean, particularly on the ocean, and in the world of piracy…please…that just doesn’t happen. They’re much too soft and gentle for a life like that. Or at least, that’s what the stories say anyways.
No one had ever told these stories to Izzy Hands, of course, no one would have dared to on the Queen Anne.
Or the five members of the Revenge’s crew who had never met a hobbit in their life, before First Mate Hands stepped foot on their ship + the one who had.

Summary
The man boarded the ship like a bat out of hell, swinging over from his own ship before it had even stopped. He gave Ed the most smoldering look as he stood, eyes never leaving the wreck of a man he'd left behind. He never broke eye contact as Izzy rushed him, his own sword coming up effortlessly to block the tiny, angry, man.

Summary
“All I know is that Stede here did something very courageous in defending your honor—”
“Oh my god fuck off—”
“I did, didn’t I?” Stede purrs, and now he’s mirroring Ed again. They’re absolutely evil, the pair of them, as they suspend Izzy in lustful affection. Where they tease and kiss him, laud him with seductive words and promises, but don’t fucking do anything—
“I think it’s only fair that you say thank you, Iz.” Ed starts to move his hand in Izzy’s pants, dipping deeper. When he moves an inch, he gasps, “Oh fuck, Iz— god, you’re such a slut for it, aren’t you?” He squeezes at Izzy's throat quickly, and adds, "Can't believe this still gets you fucking soaked after all this time, you sick little freak."

Summary
“Jack, mate, where the fuck are— oh.” Ed stopped abruptly, momentum driving him a few stumbling steps closer, and took in the scene before him: Jack splayed on the floor, Stede standing over him, pissed off and imperious, foot on his neck. “Oh fuck me.”

Calico Jack pissed on Stede's shoes and Stede is not at all happy about it. And Ed is there too!EDIT: NOW FEATURING AN ILLUSTRATION BY THE LOVELY MEMS ❤

Summary
The first time it happens, Ed doesn’t say anything. It’s a normal day. Boring. Maybe he has a hangover, maybe it’s time to stop getting black-out drunk the night before work. But it’s been a while since he’s gotten into trouble for it. He doesn’t have as much to be angry about these days, not anymore. Depressed? Possibly. Feeling like he’s wasted his life? Oh, absolutely, that’s just a fact. He’s 45 years old and working in a dingy, dusty strip mall, living vicariously (at the moment) through a man in a $3000 bespoke suit taking a sledgehammer to a microwave.

Summary
Calico Jack knew he had what it takes to be a true monster hunter. He comes from a long line of monster hunters. It's the family business.
No relation to those asshole Winchester brothers. Those dicks are always getting in everyone’s business about morals on whether you’re able to fuck them.
Jack doesn’t really care he’s had his way with more than a few. When you know how to kill them you know how to hurt them now. You how to really hurt them.
Aside from the trophies Jack normally takes when he kills them. Jack’s family specifically is known because they always take just a little more.
They’re monster hunters. Monsters are the worst of the worst so of course, they deserve the worst things to happen to them. And with some of them, he doesn’t even have to kill the monster as long as he really makes it hurt.

Summary
Ed had thought so many times about this meeting. About what he would say to Stede Bonnet. About all the angry things he would tell him. All the pain he would hurl at Stede.
What he hadn’t expected was the cold look on Stede’s face, or for Stede to draw his sword and hold it out toward Ed.
He definitely hadn’t expected the sheer fury in Stede Bonnet’s voice as he said, voice strong and unwavering, “Edward Teach. Draw your weapon.”
.
Or, Stede and crew retake the Revenge after weeks of chasing it. The boys have some shit to work through. And Ed has a lot of apologizing to do. So does Stede, but he didn't throw anyone overboard or abandon the crew on a deserted islet. So mostly Ed has to apologize.

Summary
So Ed basically stole his boat and marooned most of his crew. He can clearly see his fucking books floating away off the coast the further he rows out. He knows he's not exactly innocent in all of this, but goddamn. Wait a second, is that...Lucius? Fuck. Unacceptable.

Summary
When Stede Bonnet was carefully carved out of bits of the finest enchanted Brazilian cherry wood, he allowed Geppetto to put on a show with him, dress him up and parade him about a bit, dangling from bits of string and lace, tottering about the world in a perverse imitation of a real boy. And when that stupid fucking cricket that lived in the walls of his Barbados estate whispered to him and told him to behave, to smile through his pathetic (pathetic) puppet life, what did Stede Bonnet do? Why, he took a hammer and smashed the fuck out of that cricket. Cricket annihilated. Bonnet out.
The story hasn’t ended though. It’s time for him to be swallowed by that great sea-beast, only to be spit out into a new life with the only person who can break the spell. The first problem now is that the only one who can allow him to feel a real human heartbeat thudding in his no-longer wooden chest is more likely to stop that beating forever. The second problem is that for the first time in his life, he knows exactly what he is.

Summary
It’s strange and awkward, the three of them navigating the same space like this. Stede can’t help thinking glumly to himself on more than one occasion over the next several days that everything is much easier when sex is involved, even though the sex is, in fact, more than tricky enough on its own. Being near Izzy in public feels like walking a tightrope, dizzying and dangerous and like one faltering step will be Stede’s downfall. He keeps thinking about what Izzy said, and he says to Ed one night almost a week out from Izzy’s whipping:
“He really loves you, doesn’t he?”
“Whaaaat,” Ed says, nestled up against Stede’s side before the crackling fire on a thick, fur rug they’ve only recently acquired. “That’s not what the next part says, is it?”
