The sentence barely registers in Mydei’s mind as he stares at the shadow of the man who was once Phainon, who sits completely still in a chair, dull eyes staring sightlessly ahead.
“Damage to mind function detected… Possibly irreversible…”
The Antikethyran-like man continues reading through the digitized logs impartially, as if merely reciting a speech. But every single word he says drives another stake into Mydei’s heart.
