Shinichi was opposed to his mom's idea of taking a little tour of the US for the summer in the first place- especially since their stops weren't even Interesting. Who had ever heard of Gravity Falls anyway? He was thirteen, he had better things to do! Besides, he wasn't allowed to sit in the hotel room reading either, so the only thing he could do was just sit on a bench and people watch. As odd as the people of that town were, it was still boring.
But... there was a girl across the street, with a grin on her face and energy in her step, accompanied by one of the shadiest teens that he'd ever seen. Was she... okay? The way that guy looked at her... he didn't like it. He was bored enough to find out. Crashing into the girl's brother and joining his wild goose chase had not been the initial plan, but when it led him to something fantastical, the likes of which he'd never dreamed to have been real? Well, he couldn't say he regretted it.
(I put 13 yr old Shinichi in Gravity Falls. Surely this will go well.)

“Hey- did that human just attack you?” A loud voice shouts. Human? No, no no no-
Grian forces his eyes open, taking in every detail of the person he just ran into. Green eyes, brown hair, scars, they look normal. Human, they look- no. Pointed ears. Pointed ears, they aren’t.
He just ran right into an alien.
The alien holding him shakes their head. “I think it just ran into me.” Please don’t kill him, please don’t kill him, the aliens usually don’t but he just ran right into one-
“Scar, no.” A different alien says. That is much more obvious, with their entire body being covered in green fur. Grian is suddenly conscious of just how many there are. A bolt of terror shoots through his bones. “No! I see that look in your eyes.”
The one who’s apparently named Scar makes a sort of whining noise. “But it’s just a lil baby!” Are they talking about him? Grian opens his mouth, but all that comes out is a broken whimper and blood. “It’s hurt!”
A different one sighs. “Fine. We can bring it back and heal it up, but we aren’t keeping it!”
