They can only gape as their blurry gaze rests on a short skeleton, whose face is twisted with abject, blatant concern.
“you’re here?” Sans asks, though he doesn’t sound all that surprised.
“You were watching the vacuum cleaner commercials?” Frisk hiccups their reply, reaching up with a clenched fist to wipe away another offending tear.

But the setting sun just feels so nice, warming his body despite the coldness of the ocean’s waters. His brothers watch as Leo raises his hand up, pushing it through the waves and letting fingers wiggle once they’ve reached nothing but cold, biting air. And once he’s dipped his metaphorical toe in, it’s much easier to go all the way.

Joel’s eyes move behind his eyelids, eyelashes fluttering. The anger quickly recedes, hope erratically pushing up her throat and choking her from the inside out. Impatiently, she brushes her still snow-drenched hair out of her eyes and leans forward, taking his hand. He’s still so cold, and his pulse is worryingly feeble, but he’s alive.
Slumping like a marionette whose strings are cut, Ellie clamps her free hand over her mouth and sobs. She’s alone, she’s so alone, and she’s so scared. She's such a fucking liar and if he was awake he'd laugh at her and her bald-faced lies. “Joel,” she squeezes his hand as hard as she can, struggling through her tears to make the words somewhat intelligible. “Please wake up.”
