He was a hypnotic dancer. Fluid. Like a wave crested from his shoulders all the way down his thighs. Every movement a curve rather than a line. Adaptable, too. Skill-less partners were graceful in his arms when they succumbed to his rhythm. Everything he touched became beautiful for a moment. Then he moved on, the light dimmed, and they were dropped back into sloppy, simple normalcy.
Solas disappeared, a circle of worshipers enveloping him as the beat throbbed beneath Felassan's feet.
The world's two least reliable narrators have slightly different memories of what happened at a club in Geltberg almost 20 years before the events of Overgrown & Roots.

A tale of feline rescues, vet visits, love, nature walks, and many horrible choices. One of the cats is nicknamed the Orb. Our favorite elves do much mutual pining.

It was odd that she hadn’t noticed him yet, he was sure he had let out a noise as he collapsed forward. Speaking of it, he felt much smaller than he had before. As he looked down, he let out a sob as he saw the weak limbs of those little scampering creatures that usually wore that odd shiny coating. The creatures usually shout at him angrily, or fearfully as he soared above. He never attacked unless provoked, what could they possibly be angry at him for? What happened to him? Had they done this to him as punishment?

Step 4: Fail all of the above miserably, become a triple spy and manage to sleep with a god while putting the whole of Thedas in danger.

Summary
He took a few stumbling steps forward while the roughly boat-sized Solas prowled around him, his movements sleek and sure. He wasn’t so large that he was able to tip the foundation they were on, but he did shake it with every step. Rook’s tail wagged when Solas nosed the dome of his head with his cool, wet nose, giving him a sniff, and while Rook didn’t quite understand what compelled him to do it, it was oddly pleasing.
Solas attempts to teach Rook how to transform into a wolf, which goes hilariously wrong. Teasing ensues.

He shuddered and sat back on his haunches. It felt like a personal touch, a cage designed just for him.
The room smelt vaguely damp and gritty. There was a hole in the floor to serve as waste disposal. The walls gleamed sickly under the overhead light. On the far wall of his cell, he noticed another room, seamlessly attached but separated from his by eight long, metal bars, too light and smooth to be made of the same material as the box. Venturing a little closer, he realized he wasn’t alone. Hunched over in the dark, taking in deep, shuddering breaths, was Solas. He’d been stripped of everything but his leathers and his clothes were oddly bare without the pauldrons and chest plate.
“Solas,” he whispered.
Elgar'nan captures Rook and Solas with the intention of making them ruin each other. His plans don't go as smoothly as he would like.

Turns out, stripping pays better than adjunct work, and the audience is far more engaged. The fact that it would enrage his ex is just a bonus, really. Besides, Solas is only doing this to pay the bills until he figures out what to do with his life. Hopefully.
