1. "Manques-tu de moi quand je pars?"
And again on yet another day, Jesse smiled a little helplessly at the foreign words Cédric appeared to enjoy throwing at him, during random intervals through the past few weeks.
"Your Highness, you know I don't understand the Empire's ancient tongue…"
"Hier, quand je t'ai laissé," Cédric merely continued, stubborn in the way Jesse came to know him to be. " .... on dirait que t'apprécie davantage la bouf que moi."
"You sound," Jesse hesitated, the cogs of his brain carefully turning. "... upset..?"
Cédric stared at him for a long while, his orange eyes flickering momentarily to the half-eaten cookie that Jesse was holding in his hand. His mood seemed to sour a little further, just then, and before Jesse could even begin to register it, the man had stood up just as abruptly as last time, and strode all the way back to his palace.
Honestly, this guy… Jesse's brows lightly furrowed as he munched on his cookie. Why was he like this?
2. "Je pense à toi."
Jesse faintly grumbled in his sleep. It was long past afternoon by now, and from the fading golden glow behind his eyelids, he could distantly make out that the sun was already beginning to set. But still, on a warm day such as this, he couldn't help but succumb a little to food coma after losing track of the time.
"Fréquemment..."
Something tickled the side of his head from where he had laid it on the table—a bit fuzzy, like a brush from the cuff of a sleeve.
A warm sensation could be felt brushing through his hair, feeling the strands not tugged, not pulled. It was so gentle Jesse swore he would have imagined it, but whilst wavering in between two states of consciousness, he was sure he had truly felt it.
"Chaque nuit, je laisse mes rideaux ouverts."
Something warm, yet with a faint texture of leather brushed his ear.
"... mais la lune n'est rien, comparée à toi."
Absent-mindedly, Jesse lifted his hand to push away whatever was playing with his hair. A small grumble left his lips when the touch flocked back towards him, unperturbed by his weak swatting—just like a moth drawn to flames, though this particular moth seemed to hold all the warmth, with how it heated his skin.
Jesse was truly being driven insane, to be hearing Cédric speaking his damned fluent Riestan, even in his dreams.
Jesse felt a brief poke at his cheek, tickling his skin, and frowned lightly in his sleep.
That's right. Just like an annoying mosquito.
(When he woke up, Jesse found himself back in his chambers in the Juliette Palace, snuggly tucked under his blankets—a spot of fading warmth lingered near the side of his bed, where a small dip could still faintly be seen.)
3. "Mes rêves ne cessent d'être remplis de toi."
Jesse sighed.
"C'est pénible."
Cédric's gaze almost seemed to be burning through the surface of the table.
"Qu'as-tu fait de moi?"
"Crown Prince-nim, you know I…"
Orange, burning eyes flickered up to meet his, so intense, Jesse felt his words knot themselves at the back of his throat—breath quietly hitching.
"J'en ai marre de ça, là."
He felt pinned in place, unable to say a word in the heavy silence that followed.
Finally, Cédric's voice mellowed—a deep, quiet, nearly defeated thing. Sentiments that sounded so odd when mixed in with this man who was usually nothing but stoic and curt.
"..... aie pitié de moi, Sérénité."
Jesse felt something in him quiver at that soft, strange tone.
Cheeks feeling warm, he looked away—though not before pushing one of the plates closer to Cédric, in hopes that the man would stop looking at him so intently.
… But as expected, such a distraction tactic didn't work.
Jesse was certain the heat in his face could only be due to the fire attribute of the Crown Prince's unfaltering stare.
4. The smoked tablecloth that Cédric had been gripping onto for dear life now exploded into huge flames.
Briefly, Jesse wondered if he had perhaps gone too far with his insults, though before he could even mutter out an apology, Cédric's hand pulled him by the front of his shirt and a hot pairs of lips slammed onto his[...]—though a tongue quickly dove in at the presented opportunity, and Jesse nearly lost all sense of reason as he scrambled for purchase against Cédric, hands finally settling to clutch at his sleeves.
"The— The food!!!" Jesse gasped sharply, breaking an embarrassing string of saliva between them once he was barely able to pull himself away from Cédric. The crown prince's breath felt like flames against his skin, only contributing to the heat that was already consuming his entire face. "The tea has also— spilled over….!!! Cr— Prince-nim—!!!!"
"Don't care," Cédric hissed, his eyes consuming Jesse alive like wildfire amidst wheat fields.

"Oh." Todoroki finally takes it, brushes his thumb across the jacket carefully. He says, soft. "I hear. Thank you, Bakugou."
It's a bit short, and his white t-shirt still peeks out from below. Todoroki zips it all the way up, collar hiding his mouth for a second before he wriggles his head out of turtle mode. His cheeks are slightly red, and it makes Katsuki turn red too, once he realizes the implications that Todoroki Shouto is wearing his rain jacket.
OR: Katsuki lends Todoroki one jacket and now it's like he has his entire fuckin' closet.
