Merlin’s shoulders sagged. It wasn’t like Arthur not to talk to him. Sighing, he bookmarked his page and wandered into the kitchen to make some tea.
He was standing at the counter waiting for the kettle to boil, scrolling through his phone, when Arthur slouched his way into the kitchen.
Merlin turned. “Want a cuppa?”
Arthur nodded. Then, without a word, he pulled something out of his pocket and slid it across the counter to Merlin.

Arthur and his men all sucked in a breath when they saw the cage. It was pure iron, and inside was a man. Well a young one. He couldn’t have been quite twenty years.
His blue eyes were wet with tears and the rest of him were just wounds and bruises. His wrists were clearly raw and torn up under the shackles.
The boy didn’t speak but he did whine and try to cover his eyes. The whining increased when the iron hit his face.

Summary
Arthur Pendragon recently discovered that he used to be a homophobe and is now a raging queer himself. He is madly in love with Merlin Emrys, the stereotypical twink of their school year, and it took them a while to get to the point where they were ready to make love - but now that they are, there's no stopping them. Only later does Arthur realize that there's something that Merlin is hiding from him, something about Merlin's past that the brunet would perhaps prefer to keep secret - Arthur's determined to support him through that trauma, even though he's certain he will never find out what happened to Merlin before they got together.
