His knees buckled, his nerves fired rapidly, shutting down his consciousness. Golden blood dripped down his nose while his heart stopped beating. Then— it regained its beat just to stop once again.
He died. He died several times from the burn that melted his mind and scorched his soul. It felt like he touched the Sun. The soldier — no — the being in front of him was like a blazing Sun. Standing in the glory of the Dawn Device, he shone brighter than its false light. If the Sun symbolized warmth and hope— then his Sun was filled with hatred, rage and regret.

Please,” Mydei murmured, desperate at this point. He found himself smiling into the kiss. “Come on, what are you waiting for?”
… only to find the comfort of his soft bed stripped away from him in an instant, replaced with the feeling of burning alive.
The two paused in their preparations. Mydei blinked up at Phainon’s sudden changed appearance, taking in the bright gold eyes and divine power bursting underneath his skin. That was fairly normal at this point, however …
“Phainon,” Mydei said slowly, turning to stare up at the blood red sky, and feeling the sensation of cosmic smoke curdling in his lungs. “What are we doing in hell?”
Or, in a post Era Nova world, Mydei and Phainon attempt to do the deed as they settle into their happily ever after. Multiple times, in fact. If only Phainon could stop departing them to his pocket dimension of a realm whenever they tried.

“I want you,” Mydei drawled, low and rough right in the shell of Phainon’s ear, “to give me everything you’ve got.”
“Whatever the victor demands of me.”
Even if the fate of Amphoreus was no longer hanging in the balance, any good spar needs stakes. For Mydei and Phainon it’s simple: the victor can make any demand of the defeated.
When Mydei requests that Phainon give him everything they both know what he really wants. That form tempered by Destruction, which Phainon kept so carefully hidden away. There’s no better way to help Phainon overcome his fears of himself.
