As it currently stands it doesn't seem to be too canon-divergent but I have unfortunately gone off the deep end and we will be seeing a little bit more rewriting and divergence.     The Calamity Ganon—an ancient evil which has plagued the Kingdom of Hyrule for a century—has fallen to the hands of the hero, Link, and the princess, Zelda. Though they were victorious in sealing the beast, the monstrous servants of the Calamity still linger, and the most of the kingdom was lost to time and taken over by the wild. Opting to forgo their titles and start a new life as regular travelers before starting to rebuild the kingdom, Link and Zelda begin their new life in the Era of the Wild, trying to discover why the monsters still exist.

    Little do they know, someone might be guiding them toward a quite unexpected trial...

Calamity Ganon's power is on the rise-- monsters are growing more powerful and organizing themselves, Guardians are patrolling the roads, and the Yiga Clan has a new, dangerous leader. Link still refuses to take down the Calamity, opting to drive back the monsters and help in any other way he can. Meanwhile, the goddess Hylia has decided to intervene, insisting he rescue "her vessel" and tampering with his memories of Zelda in order to coerce him into rescuing her.

    Or: a Link corruption arc.
