Summary
“I forgive you,” Boromir says, just as grave as the captain before him, accepting his demotion to knighthood with far more grace than most would afford a too-bold babe. “An’ I dub you Sir ‘Rongil, so you must help protect nana. ‘Cos you’ve a real sword an’ can cut down real foes, until I have one, too, and can protect her better.”
So saying, he drives the point of the sword into the ground, and turns to face Finduilas, legs trembling a little with the effort to hold himself back from bouncing.
“No fear. No harm. Not while we’re here. So swear I.”
“So swear I,” Thorongil intones, after the fashion of the knights of old. Boromir turns back to him, taking both his hands to wrap them about the hilt of the toy sword, and for one selfish moment Finduilas is glad her son no longer faces her, that he might not see the tears spilling from her eyes.

Summary
Just one night. Just one night alone, unseen, unasked for, unneeded. Just one night, when no one needed him to be strong, or cheerful, no one needed him to be anything at all, that he might break apart in peace, and piece himself back together with none the wiser once his hands grew steady again. Make himself whole again, that he might be of use. For broken pieces left only mess, and he had to clean up the mess. He could not, would not let the dream come to pass.
Just one night. Surely it was not so gross a sin, to not be strong for just one night.
A tale of nightmares, grief, and late-night conversations.

Summary
“Haste still pays haste, and leisure answers leisure; like doth quit like, and measure still for measure.”
Shakespeare’s play leaves us with several unresolved conflicts, such as Vincentio proposing marriage to Isabella (does she accept it or not?), Claudio dealing with the aftermath of his near-death experience, Angelo losing his title, etc. We, as readers, may well be prone to questioning precisely what the outcomes are. This work is our take on each of the conflicts.

"There was no one keeping track anymore. No one to count the years and months and days he’d lost to wandering the fog. Trying to find Seamie. Trying to find himself in Seamie, the bits of his self that Seamie had taken with him. Because Seamie wasn’t here. But he wasn’t anywhere else, either. And Tadhg couldn’t be if Seamie wasn’t."

Summary
"Hesitant, Emilia reached up to stroke the brilliant scarlet rose in her hair, wincing slightly as one finger got caught on a sharp thorn. The blood, hidden in the flower's velvet petals, welled up in a thin red line as she placed her finger delicately in her mouth to quell the faint flow of that red tide. There is danger hidden in beauty, she thought suddenly, incongruously, and thorns sharp and cutting ensconced in flowers of love."
The story of Othello and Desdemona is one of passion burning too strong-- of idle thoughts twisting into suspicions wild and imaginations raging with jealousy and fervent desire to be taken at one's chaste word. The story of Emilia and Iago is a quieter tale, of sinister machinations and a shared madness that sinks its thorny claws in deep and drags hapless souls together into a mire that is either love, or insanity, or hatred...or everything of nothing first created.

"I am the Serpent, the Midnight Song, the soul’s Shadow, Incarna Malor. Will you bow to me, servants of your worm king, before you bind me with iron and silence the spells that breathe life into my veins as they rob it from yours? Before you take from me my only joy, my only light, my only hope?
How he longed to shout the words-- tear them from his throat and leave them raw and bleeding at the feet of the king’s guards! They were coming, he knew-- had known from the moment he had taken Bastián into his arms and bid their lips join in harmony sweeter than song. Fools, the lot of them, did they truly think him so blind?"

Summary
“She’d laughed aloud the first time she saw him jump like a spooked cat at a flash of lightning; not her most empathetic moment, but then, she was no saint, no matter what Freddie believed. At any rate, he’d bluffed his way out of that one-- had tried to do the same for a full month’s worth of good old London rain afterward until she’d snapped and told him to just bloody admit it, for Christ’s sake, it’s not a sin to be scared.
She was patient by necessity, not by natural inclination. And necessity was a rather difficult thing to justify when one’s partner’s only candid moments came when he was either exhausted, drunk, or cowering at the edge of psychosis.”

Summary
"How to get rid of your boyfriend. 26 black letters marring the pristine white of the search bar, a warped and deadly alphabet. Jenny cast a fearful glance toward her dorm’s locked door, praying to every god she used to adore that her nosy roommate stay the hell out.
Her hands tingled, went numb. Like they’d been burned by the damning words they felt so compelled to type.
There were...so many results. At least two 13-step wikiHows. Myriad articles from as many websites: girly blogs, fashion hubs, Livestrong.com. Youtube videos, Reddit threads-- all meant to help girls push their men away, break their hearts. But nothing, not one hit out of 2,600,000 said anything about taking their lives."

"You watch. Wait. What will it take, to tip you over your edge? Now that, I don’t know. Can’t know. But perhaps you do...yes. Yes, I think so. Someday, my dear, you won’t be able to hide from it. It will come for you-- it did for me, it will for us all. Your mind will fade, the very core of whatever you call self scrubbed away, leaving no trace behind on the white walls your world will become. You will be shattered, your pieces gathered and reshaped into a cracked and fragile facsimile of a whole: a number, a nobody. You’ll forget everything you ever thought you knew, even the memory of the sun’s face. And that more than anything should scare you."
