Summary
In which Cal Kestis escapes Bracca on his own and makes it to Nar Shaddaa, meeting up with a newly-widowed Bode Akuna and changing the course of that future tragedy. Meanwhile, Cere Junda is forced to come to terms with her own past when she can't find another Jedi to help her get to her master's holocron, setting her on a path to redemption and, just maybe, atonement - for both her and her lost padawan.
An alternative take on the events of Jedi: Fallen Order, Jedi: Survivor, and the years in between, with better endings for all involved.

And- Cal knows ships. He knows them as well as the backs of his hands, knows how they move and how they don’t and what holds them together, because he spent five years pulling them apart and wrapping himself in that lie and the tenuous safety it offered him, and so when he commands the fighter’s engines to break - he knows, deep in his bones, even before the sparks begin to fly, that there will be no repairing what he has just torn apart. There will be no escape for Bode Akuna, at least not on that ship.
“Bode!” he shouts, igniting his saber blades with the quick press of a button as the stormtroopers cluster closer around him, their blasters aimed and ready, a call for surrender he barely hears. “Stop running!”
