Summary
It's been almost thirty years since Shifty crawled out of the lab like a zombie rising from the grave, since Stanford Pines fell beyond their reach. Thirty years of almost nightly work on a portal that refused to obey their and Stan's commands, no matter what they did. Thirty years since the start of the Mystery Shack and Shifty's alter ego, the unlikeable co-manager of said Shack. Hope is starting to wear thin, and frustration is running high.
But when a pair of twins begin to stumble upon the mysteries of the town, there might be something left to find after, be they solutions or secrets. Secrets that might as easily destroy Shifty as they could save them.

Summary
Stanley Pines doesn’t scare easy. That's one of the things he's most proud of himself for. He isn't scared of Pa (much) never gets scared of the things in Gravity Falls (usually) and is always ready to step up to help his brother (even if it means getting in trouble).
But there's something sinister about this stupid TV show he keeps seeing, even if everyone else insists that it's nothing. The phone calls, the shadows, the eerie entity going by the name of Mr. Knocks. All of it adds up, but it's nothing Stan can't handle.
Because he has to.

Summary
It was one of those concrete facts of life, the sort of thing you forget about because you’ve lived with it your whole existence and didn’t know anything different. Gravity was trying to pull you to the center of the earth, sweet things tasted good but made your teeth fall out and your body rebel against you, and Dipper could see dead people.
*** *** ***
Dipper Pines has long resigned himself to a life of fear and anxiety, waiting for the next horrific ghost around the corner, a beast only he could see. But the ghosts in Gravity Falls are different from the ghosts back home, in more way than he could have ever imagined.
And there's a ghost with secrets he never expected just waiting to be discovered in the shack.

Summary
Stanford Pines has been desperately trying to decode the mysterious journal he found in the woods at the beginning of his summer in Gravity Falls, and has found his worst nightmare has come true: he's hit a roadblock without a keyword for the ciphers.
Maybe an odd triangle (or two) can give him a hint. Surely there won't be any repercussions to this.

Summary
Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent to Gravity Falls, Oregon, to spend the summer with their almost-unknown Grunkle Stan in order to "get some fresh air" and "try something new" and "not play video games all summer, no Dipper, we're not just looking at you when we say that".
Meanwhile, back in Piedmont, the adventures are not nearly so exciting.

Summary
But he thinks, somewhere down the line, the love he holds for Stanford Pines had become flush with religion. He thinks when Ford’s honeyed voice had begun to deafen that of the God he worshipped in church is when that love had surpassed it. And if that’s the truth, then his wedding vows had been made to a god he’d long since lost touch with, as his real religion took the title of “best man” in stride.
Not that it matters much in the end. He’d still wound up back in the house of his god, these days a lonely little shack in some shabby Oregon town but once a college dorm with walls too thin and bipolar air-conditioning, no matter how he tried to stay away.
(Or: Fiddleford McGucket does not have a problem, and Stanford Pines has a hickey.)
