      Tony sighed as he sat down at his bench. He should have known better. He should have known that no matter what he did or how hard he tried to prevent it, Peter would end up hating him. Tony hadn't thought that it would be when Peter was fifteen. He'd expected Peter to hate him after he left to go to college.

      But after the argument they'd had, it didn't take much for Tony to realize that he'd somehow messed up.

      OR: Tony and Peter get into an argument. Peter says some things he doesn't mean and Tony dwells on them. Oh, and Peter had a field trip that he completely forgot about.

    How was he supposed to process all of this? All he'd wanted to do was spend the day on the couch, watching some tv show he really wasn't interested in, taking his medicine and drowsing as he recovered from the flu. Instead, he'd been told that Tony wasn't his father, that he was just an obligation, an asset to the company, and that Tony didn't love him.

    And it hurt. God, did it hurt. Peter wasn't aware of the tears rolling down his already flushed cheeks. He was vaguely aware that he couldn't breathe anymore, but he wasn't sure if that was what he should focus on or if he should focus on the fact that Tony didn't love him.

    OR: Peter caught the flu and ends up having a conversation with his grandfather. Tony does his best to deal with the aftermath of that conversation.
