Summary
Here, in a desolate town a few hours outside of Hopeland, there are stories. Townspeople whisper tales of an abandoned church’s resident—shrieks in the night and hisses slithering beneath the doors. The abandoned bell tower still strikes at random—phantoms of services past signaling a bad omen to come. Quick sightings of bright white wings and terrifying claw marks up the brick exterior only add to the rumbling rumors. At midnight, whisps of a sad, old hymn drift into town and lull the occupants to a fitful sleep.
Wolfwood doesn’t believe in rumors like that.
OR: Angel Vash and Priest Wolfwood learn how to behave properly as "roommates" in church.

Summary
Nicholas D. Wolfwood manages to piss off Gunsmoke's most violent cryptid: Millions Knives. Despite his rage, Knives agrees to spare Wolfwood, but only if he successfully tracks down Knives' slippery, nomadic brother - another elusive cryptid simply referred to as "The Stampede".
It takes years, but thanks to the aid of Zazie the Beast, Wolfwood tracks "The Stampede" to a small mountain town called TriPeak.
Despite Wolfwood's desperation to catch the monster, his fondness for the town proves to be a slight distraction. The locals are nice, the cafe sells the best coffee he's ever had, and TriPeak is inherently charming, despite the perpetually grey weather.
And on top of all that, there's one newer TriPeak transplant who Wolfwood finds particularly fascinating.

Vash never saw himself falling in love with anyone, let alone a human. Vash never saw himself becoming a parent, let alone to a child he bore with a human. Vash never saw himself raising a child, let alone one who is so similar to her father that it hurts sometimes.
But Vash loves Remi more than anything in the world, so he will go through whatever pain it takes to make her happy and keep Knives from killing any more humans. He'll protect this tiny family he has with all he's got.
That's what Nicholas would've wanted, right?
