All of ES is thrown into disarray when an unknown, malicious entity shuts down Hold Hands and hijacks Switch's new Alternate Dimension VR system, taking Alkaloid and all the idols hostage in the process, with shadowy creatures stalking every corner. The entity proposes the conditions in which things can return to normal: 7 idols join Alkaloid in the alternate dimension system and attempt to rescue them from its clutches while the remaining idols obtain the items it is seeking that are somewhere in ES; whichever succeeds first does not matter.
As the idols begin to truly understand the danger this entity encompasses and poses to the world and secrets are revealed, can they pull together to put a stop to the madness? Death was supposed to be a one-way street. But knowing a girl with super powers had a tendency to change the game. So when Steve opens his eyes to a beer-soaked bathroom on Halloween in 1984, Nancy calling him 'bullshit' all over again, the universe might forgive Steve for thinking he was either a) in Hell or b) going cracked. But Steve didn't have time to freakout. Not when El finds him and asks that he help her change the events of the future. Not when he's the only other person she managed to drag with her for chance number two.
OR: A time travel fix-it, where 1987 Steve is dropped back into his 1984 self. And now he has to deal with that plus the impending apocalypse on the horizon. But he'll be fine, right? He remembers pain. He remembers fear, a lot of fear, and probably not for the reasons he should—he’s never been afraid of dying, no, but he was afraid of dying with unfinished business. The thought of dying with things unsaid, pleasures unexperienced, L.T.s unfucked—and maybe that last one took up more space in his mind than it should—that’s what scared him.
