A beat.
“I’m sorry.” Tommy said, slightly surprised to feel genuine sorrow for the hero. The idea that their roles could’ve been reversed- it scared Tommy, more than he was willing to admit.
Mercury let out a small, sad chuckle.
“It’s not your fault,” he said quietly. “It’s not anyone's fault.” He sighed, looking up.
The sky was still cloudy.
“It's just the way the cards were dealt.”

“Where are they? The other vigilantes that were there.” Tommy didn’t turn to Techno as he lowered his gaze to his hands and the compass he knew was tucked into his pocket.
“Gone.” Tommy said flatly.
“Gone?”
“Gone.” He repeated, this time a little harsher.
Techno frowned, and Tommy could feel the hero's gaze on him.
“Somewhere you can follow?”
Tommy sighed, looking at the sky.
“Somewhere I shouldn’t.” He admitted, quietly. L’manburg needed him, more than Purpled did.
More than a corpse did.

Sam sighed as the first dredges of morning light peek into the stall, casting a yellow glow on the glass figurines on the table. “Stick around for once,” he asked. Purpled just gave a half-hearted shrug.
“Can’t. Gotta go.”
“Go where?”
That made Purpled pause, just for a second. He looked down at the apple, before glancing back at Sam, a forced nonchalance in his posture.
“I dunno. Just go.”

NIGHTMARE STALKER P1
The Nightmare Stalker is an extremely dangerous Spirit. If you suspect that this is within your vicinity, run.
The Nightmare Stalker has the ability to hide itself in a cloak of invisibility, and the only indication of its presence would be its unconcealable glowing white eyes.
When you look at its eyes it manages to hinder you by making you remember previous nightmares. I think that’s pretty nifty considering I had this one dream I wanted to remember but couldn’t.
Other than its eyes, there is no way to detect its presence. Fortunately these creatures will only ever reveal its presence at night and these avoid the sun. I once managed to scare it off using a UV lamp, so I believe the reason it hides in the day is because of its natural aversion to shorter wavelengths of 10–400 nanometers. I’m yet to see more on this because these creatures too rare for me to give the time of day to actively find. They just pop up for some reason.
I did manage to figure out first try that the invisibility goes away when you hit it with a stick, but not when you throw one at it. I hope I didn’t kill it, it’d be cool if I’d run into it another time.

A cough makes Grian freeze in his tracks, shakes him to his core. Despite all the signs, of all the things he was expecting to find in this cave, a truly sentient creature was not one of them. That’s what scares him the most.
He turns, grabbing his dagger and pointing it at the newcomer, who simply smiles at him, fangs and all.
“Why hello there.”
tldr; Grian is an avian desperate to keep his wings, and he'll do whatever it takes to save himself. Even if it means stealing from a dragon.
(It turns out there's more to the dragon then he thought).
