Phil sits at Techno’s bedside and worries.
Wilbur woke him up barely past midnight, sobbing and shaking, saying Techno had a seizure and he’s not waking up, begging for help.
Techno still hasn’t come around. Ponk conducted a neuro exam in his room, and he didn’t wake up, didn’t respond. Ponk moved him to the medical bay and did another exam, and Techno still remained unresponsive.
Techno was doing well. He wasn’t okay, but he was safe, he was responding to Kristin, and now…ai-less whumptober day 28

“This is Cyrena,” their father says. His expression is oddly pinched. “She’s come to… to perform a ritual to help you both prepare for Wilbur’s departure.”
Techno swallows, nervousness prickling through their bond. His, mostly. Wilbur squeezes his hand reassuringly.
They kneel side-by-side, staring at the woman, confusion and anxiety flowing between them. She begins to speak, in a language Techno doesn’t understand. And then-
Pain rips through Techno’s chest. He chokes, gripping at it, it hurts so much-
Beside him, Wilbur flinches, opening his mouth in confusion.
Techno screams as the bond is prised out of his heart, the horrible burning world-shaking pain sending him toppling into blackness.ai-less whumptober day 27

Phil gently moves his thumbs in circles over Techno’s wrists, smiling when his kid’s gaze focuses again. “Hey,” he murmurs. “Still doing okay, Techno?”
Techno blinks at him, confusion gradually clearing. “Phil.”
“Right here. You’re just fine,” Phil says soothingly.
Techno doesn’t fight today. This is good. He’s never fully the old Techno, not since the kidnapping and the seizure, but he has good days and bad days. On good days- like today- he’s somewhat cognizant of his surroundings, he follows instructions without fussing. On worse days-

“In our talks, Tommy voiced a want of his that I encouraged him to indulge in. Have you ever heard of age regression?” The therapist asked.
“Uh, somewhat. It's like, when you think you're a kid, right?”
“In a sense, yes. Tommy has repeated the want of being a kid again. I believe allowing him to explore that kind of mindset will allow him to feel as if he's safe again and will allow him to heal over time. Provided he is given the care he needs. While I can provide a safe place to talk and strategies to help him, he needs you as well. Tommy needs someone to take care of him.”
“I think I can do that,” Wilbur said, nodding. “I’ve already been trying to make him feel safe with me. I’d do anything to help him feel safe again.”

Techno barely heard the door to his room open. (Screw you, past him, for forgetting to lock it.) He doesn't dare to look up from the blanket, presently the only thing helping him save face.
“Are you dying in there?” a raspy voice—one evidently belonging to someone who just woke up—asks.
It's more of a fact than a question to Techno. Perhaps he really is dying, but that wouldn't be very on brand of him.
Somewhere in the recesses of his mind, Techno registers his name being called by his brother, Wilbur.

It's a sick night for Techno. Wilbur finds him just in time.

Summary
Unfortunately, Wilbur's mean glares and cold responses are only a couple of things that float in his vast, never-ending ocean of problems.
The sudden upsurge of the voices lingering in his head doesn't usually occur in school. When it does so happen that his luck betrays him without remorse, it would be in the bathroom or behind the school parking lot dumpsters where no one will hear or care when he starts to scream.
But today, the voices have been clouding his head the moment he stepped into the classroom.

Something jolts him awake. Surprisingly, that something is riddled with promising warmth. He lets out a small whine. He doesn't find the thought of opening his eyes particularly favourable right now.
“Can you hear me?” someone asks beyond the static ringing in his ears. “If you can hear me, can you open your eyes?”
Techno manages to find a bit of strength in him to squint his eyes open. Everything is blurry, he can feel icicles hanging from his eyelashes like butterfly cocoons. Yet, a silhouette forms in his vision. He focuses on a brown-haired man kneeling in front of him. His gaze is distraught and concerned, and Techno couldn't be bothered to wonder why.

He gets cut off by a road bump, it rattles the whole minivan and he has no other choice but to grudgingly lean on the door.
His immune system didn't like that.
Techno looks away and lets out a deep breath as soon as the path turned into something much smoother, much easier to deal with.
Wilbur stares at him. The roughness of the concrete beneath the gyrating wheels of the vehicle doesn't seem to affect him that much. “You seem pale,” he narrows his eyes. “Aww, are you getting carsick?”
“Shut up,” Techno groans, folding his knees against his chest. If Wilbur doesn't stop being irritating, he will vomit all over him out of spite or something.

He watched the eyes of the bear snapped open, the chocolate brown meeting Tommy’s ocean blue eyes and he had been certain that he would die in that second. The bear roared, low and earth shakingly loud, making Tommy regret every single one of his life choices.
He whimpered again, squeezing his eyes shut and one of his paws came up behind his ear and pawed at it as he whimpered and whined apologies that the bear could not understand. Tommy didn't seem to realise though, repeating it over and over again. It was as if he was begging for mercy, begging for a chance another chance at life.

or, Tommy stumbles into the cave of a scary and very big bear but it turns out that he doesn't have to be scared of him. It seems as if the both of them could use a hug and that's what they are gonna do. They'll hug it out.
