At the same time, some of the insects that he was playing with before flew away in a disarray, making Lan Jingyi gasp and take some steps back, hitting right into the crouched Wei Wuxian. All the man heard was an ‘Wei Ying!!’ before the floor approach his face.
    In seconds, Wei Wuxian was splattered in the middle of the array, everyone around frozen when it started to glow in a strong red light.

    Xiao Xingchen has sacrificed his memories for something he could no longer remember. When he awakens in a world he knows nothing about, he finds three steps ingrained within the emptiness of his mind that he surmises are what he needs to regain his memories.

    The second: Song Zichen owes him a song.
    The third: He owes himself a life.

    Jiāng Chéng didn't expect to be in this version of his home again; the one crawling with bright eyed ghosts and buildings dated in centuries and not decades, but he's still utterly alone. He's not here to bask in the past, he's here to save the future, and if that forces him out of the haunted halls of his childhood, he likes that just fine.

    Or over two hundred years post-canon, Jiāng Chéng is sent back to save the cultivation world, but Wèi Wúxiàn and Lán Wàngjī refuse to leave him alone, and make his job harder in the process, but Jiāng Chéng has always good at working around obstacles, and if not around them, then through them, Zǐdiàn sparking all the way.

    Jiāng Chéng stepped close to their cell as he removed Zǐdiàn and Sāndú and set them aside. Jiāng Chéng caught Wèi Wúxiàn’s gaze.
    Wèi Wúxiàn pressed his hand against the barrier, and Jiāng Chéng placed his against where Wèi Wúxiàn’s rested. Wèi Wúxiàn shook his head again, “Ā-Chéng, don’t do this.”
    Jiāng Chéng couldn’t hear him, but he read his lips. “If this works… I’ll make sure you’re happy, Ā-Xiàn.”
