"Phainon,” Eleni whispers, so quitely Phainon's not sure he isn't hearing things, "when is Mydei coming home?”
He swallows thickly. “Not for a while, Leni.”
Her feet swing above the floor. “A long while?”
“…Yes.”
She presses her thumb into her palm. “Did he...not want to come back to us?"
Her eyes look up at Phainon’s. For a second, he’s sure he’s staring at Mydei, but when he blinks again, it’s only Eleni, small and trembling.
"No," he whispers. "He didn’t."
The sound that leaves her then is too soft to be called a sob, yet it tears through him all the same. Phainon knows it'll haunt him for the rest of his life.
Or, in which Mydei lives and other lies Phainon tells himself.
(Or, a retelling of the last twelve months of Mydei's life and everything he and Phainon managed before the end.)

Wednesday is fast approaching 21 and hasn’t asked her crush-roommate to mate still, let alone courtship. Just to fuel the fire of unfortunate events, her roommate, Enid, hasn't said or done anything that would imply she sees Wednesday as a potential interest. Regardless, there’s only so much Wednesday is willing to do (can do on school grounds), which isn't much before she has to raise the white flag.
MIGHT make an additional story that deep dives into what happened between chapters. AKA wrote this without thinking of mini stories to progress the story more fluidicly.
Implications of A/O/B/ dynamics but aren't very relevant, may be more relevant if I make a "sequel". -

Summary
