Summary
After yet another meeting at the Golden Tower, where Jin Guangshan seems unable to breathe just by mentioning Wei Wuxian and repeats like a broken record that he wants both him and the Yin Tiger Seal, the situation explodes. Not content with that, he also demands that the few surviving Wen be handed over to the Jin “for judgment.”
Jiang Cheng has already tried to talk to Wei Wuxian. He came back more frustrated than ever, with zero results and a massive headache. So, for “one last diplomatic attempt,” Jin Guangshan decides to send Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue. Obviously not because he trusts them, or because he believes in peace at all: he just hopes that Wei Wuxian will make a mistake, even a tiny bit, so as to have the perfect pretext for an attack.
Lan Xichen leaves full of optimism, Nie Mingjue with a headache. At the Funeral Mountains they find no armies or living corpses, but elder Wen men tending the fields. The only thing they don't find... is Wei Wuxian. Instead, they discover that he is in Yiling every day, at the inn he opened with the few surviving Wen. And perhaps, between steaming soup and unexpected smiles, something could warm them much more than their stomachs.

Loki’s eyes meet his own, a bright twinkle sparkling inside each of them. “Hello, there.”
“You mean it.” Mobius scans his face, finds nothing but sincerity— and, if anybody would know a lie on Loki’s face, it’s him. “Like, all of it. You mean all of it.”
“I do,” Loki replies. His grin blossoms. “Would I lie?”
“In a heartbeat,” Mobius answers, earning a laugh from Loki. Lucky. “Not about this, though. I think.” He considers Loki for another long moment, though his mind is already just about made up. “You really do want this.”
“I really do want this, yes,” Loki echoes, acting like he’s put-upon, like Mobius can’t hear the obvious fondness in his voice.
Mobius studies him for another beat, another, another.
Then, he grins, too. A match to Loki’s.
“Well,” he says, squeezing Loki’s hand, “I guess you’d better start trying to put a baby in me, then.”

But he was twenty-six, would be a full doctor soon, and he was still a crybaby. It was okay. It was also embarrassing, and his coworkers didn’t make fun of him for having a stupid pain response, but he was a crybaby. Okay, Trinity made fun of it, but she was basically his sister. She was supposed to make fun of it. Because that’s what siblings who didn’t think they were your daddy did. He made fun of her for pretending she hated them all, but then snuggled him on movie nights, and she made fun of him for crying when he got hurt.
Thing is though, as Dennis grew up, he learned that some people particularly… liked… when he was easy to make cry. He’s come to adore that just a little. He’s more of a slut than Trinity, and he liked when they could make him cry without too much pain, make fun of him for it… there was a lot he liked about being a crybaby, because it’s not really a bad thing.
