Grian fought to keep his focus, each stitch a small victory against the growing panic in his chest. He concentrated on the needle as he threaded it, his hands steady despite the chaos surrounding him. “Come on, come on,” he muttered to himself under his breath, his brow furrowed in concentration.
He couldn’t lose another friend. Not after Taurtis. The thought gnawed at him, a constant reminder of the stakes at hand.

Summary
It went like this: Mumbo returned from Last life, and he knew that nothing would be the same again. His neck throbbed, and Mumbo became all-too aware of the reason it hurt. He slapped a hand against his skin, at the junction between his shoulder and his neck, but it didn't help. He grabbed a mirror and held it up, breath caught in his throat.
Servers could work wonders when it came to death and regeneration, but experiences like the continuous violence and pain that Mumbo had been through would take time to heal. Code was tricky, there was a reason Mumbo never bothered much with it, and it was also breakable. Changing large chunks of code at a time could result in permanent injuries (like Iskall’s cyber eye).
Mumbo knew all of this - and yet he couldn’t stop himself from gasping when he saw his neck.
It was the most damning evidence ever, one that spoke of instincts and poor choices. There - a still-healing bite. The wound was deep and red around the edges, and while it would fade with time, it would always leave a scar. There was nothing Mumbo, or even Xisuma could do. His code had changed and he had a mark to prove it.
That was the rule, when it came to mating bites.

Unfortunately for him fate had no good fortune for him, as he ended up in the cell of the second most dangerous gang in HermitCraft. For five years he sat there, alone in that cold room, waiting for death to bless him.And one day, a raid changes his life. Taking his hand that day was the best decision he could’ve made.
Now, he knew something like this would happen. Grian tears up as he looks towards him, heart beating so fast he thought he would faint right there. The man littered with scars takes his hand and smiles so brightly that even Grian is taken aback by him.
“It’s okay, Grian. You’re safe now.”
He was Home.

The human was in a cell at the end of the hall. He was laying on the floor in an uncomfortable-seeming position, half slumped over the bench that Impulse assumed was supposed to serve as his bed. He was shivering weakly, one hand stretched out above his head, reaching for nothing. Minus the shivering, he was completely still. Impulse watched him for a minute, but he didn’t move. He… didn’t seem like a threat. He was actually very pathetic, and looked like his shallow, fast breathing could stop at any second.
Impulse knew better than to try to sympathise with him though. He knew if the human was in better physical condition, he’d probably be throwing himself at the bars, shouting insults and threats. Impulse shuddered. He just needed to find Jellie, and then he could leave this place.

Xisuma tries to find a way to get out of the Season 8 world after forcing his Hermits out of the portal only for it to close before he could leave.
Ex, as the sorta-admin of the Helsmits, has to figure out how to get the Hels players out of the corrupted Season 8 and into Season 9 as the world crumbles around them.
The Void twins are forced to work together when they get kidnapped by Hybrid Hunters, intent on breaking and selling them both. Will they get out in time, or will the Hermits find them?
