Summary
Merlin did not accompany the group to Camelot. He did not round up the horses, nor wipe the mud from their skin, nor check for wounds. He walked off, pace mild yet footfall powerful, and left with his own horse, not waiting for permission. A couple of the knights tried to catch up with him–Merlin didn’t care to pay attention to who–while the rest silently gathered their things, not so much as uttering a word in Arthur’s direction.
But Merlin was gone, unable to be chased after.Or
This was the final straw. Merlin could take it no longer. Let Arthur save his own skin from now on.

Honestly, if the kingdom was going to be ruled by these two ( yes, he has heard of the prophecy, and deduced, in all fairness, that the servant boy is Emrys ) oblivious idiots… then the kingdom was pretty much doomed ( no matter how much prosperity was prophesized ).

Summary
After Merlin loses a patient, he finds that he can't stop himself from blaming Arthur for not doing enough to protect the druids. Unfortunately, the situation only worstens as Arthur's inaction and an innocent death starts off a chain of events that threatens not only Camelot, but all of Albion.

Summary
King Arthur sets out to keep his promise to the spirit of the Druid boy by repealing his father's ban on magic. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done, for reasons including but not limited to the following:
(1) He can't change the law until he understands magic better, but no sorcerer is willing to explain magic to him until he changes the law;
(2) The sorcerers all have some strange obsession with Merlin, which is awakening all sorts of feelings in Arthur that he really doesn't fancy examining too closely;
(3) He is starting to feel like the butt of some Druid-population-wide inside joke involving the mysterious phenomenon called Emrys; and
(4) Oh yeah, Morgana is still trying to kill him.
Thus he embarks on a journey of discovery, diplomacy, accountability, and self-improvement, and maybe even falls in love along the way.

It had to be a coincidence when Arthur gave into anything Merlin requested with just a few scritches to his head. Except it kept working. Really, Merlin hadn’t meant to discover Arthur’s little secret, but it was impossible to resist the power to influence the Prince of Camelot of all people.
