Muu takes a step back, but it's not a sign of Rei's triumph. She just giggles in amusement. "Touché. There's nothing special about you. They do say absence makes the heart grow fonder, Rei-chan, but your tactics fail on me~"

Kusunoki Muu is unique in many ways. She is perfect and sweet, like ice cream on a late afternoon in the summer. Rei, on the other hand, isn't interesting at all. While Muu is beautiful and warm, like the sun, Rei, trapped in her orbit, depends on her light but remains out of reach - isolated and yearning, like the distant moon.
Still, she is blinded by the rays, unable to see the shadows that Muu casts. But as the old story goes, anyone who flies too close to the sun is doomed to fall. What happens when Rei sees beyond Muu's brightness?

Short analysis of how each Milgram character is mirroring Madoka Magica characters (spoilers for the series, including some parts that haven't come out):
Es: Es is supposed to be the main mirror of Madoka. Es wants to become a Magical for the same reasons as Madoka; to feel meaningful (though Madoka also just genuinely wants to help). They also are the one to make the wish that destroys the Witch/Magical cycle. But instead of becoming "hope" like Madoka, they become the embodiment of "Forgiveness" for Magical's; forgiveness of their despair. They also mirror Madoka in rebellion in the sense that their memories have been altered, though that's for a much more sinister reason than in rebellion. They are a lot meaner than Madoka, but they fulfill a lot of her role in the story. Important to note that they do not have a Homura counterpart, except maybe Amane, except not really.

Fuuta's eyes widened. Finally! A spark of realization, rushing into a forest fire. She knew he'd get it eventually. “You, you mean—”
“Soulgem.” Muu hisses, narrowing her eyes at Rei-chan's essence in her palm. “I'm French. I should have realized! Sure, I don't know English as well as Japanese, or even as well as French, but I know enough!” She laughs. “Soulgem. Soulgem! Can you believe that, soulgem, and I didn't even realize!”
Fuuta looked down at his own soulgem, swallowing. “This is… This is what we are?” He whispers, “A gem?”
Frantically, Muu nodded. “See, see! I'm not the villain here, it's Jackalope! If he lied about this, what else did he lie about?”
[Rei's wish brings about two revelations on the nature of soulgems. Muu finds herself a victim of her own emotions.]
